This project entails the design proposal for the reconfiguration of a 1960s apartment in Plateia Amerikis. Our design approach is based on a delicate balance between preserving the apartment’s historical character and introducing contemporary elements, seeking a meaningful dialogue between the existing structure and the new interventions.

Through our analysis of the space, the original flooring, herringbone wood and marble, serves as the central canvas of the residence, with the design focusing on its restoration and preservation. The kitchen design focuses on its integration with the main living area, aiming to ensure visual continuity and allow natural light to flow freely throughout the space. Simultaneously, through the energy upgrade of window frames and mechanical systems, the residence is being adapted to meet modern sustainability requirements, while respecting the building’s original character.
