The apartment is located in Kypseli, a vibrant neighbourhood of Athens popular among young people. The renovation is designed for a one-bedroom apartment that belongs to a young artist with a passion for theatre, cinema, and music. With a love for entertaining, the artist envisions a space that fosters creativity and connection.
The new approach to the layout revolves around the fireplace (“hestia”), where all the action unfolds. In that way, distinct zones are formed, dividing the originally long-shaped space — the living zone, the dining zone, and the entertaining zone. The latter, where the fireplace is located, becomes a focal point for gatherings, conversations, and creative exchanges.
Custom furniture are designed for the space intersects with the exterior wall and extends outside, creating continuity and flow to the balcony. As a result, a completely new perception of the space is created, shifting the view from long and narrow to a more squared layout, with each zone dedicated to its specific use.
The design is completed with built-in furniture and open shelving, maximising space and storage while offering ample display opportunities for books, art pieces, and memorabilia related to the artist’s artistic nature. The result is a warm and inviting home that celebrates creativity and connection.
